Thomas Aurich, Leiter Unternehmenskommunikation, Delphi Deutschland GmbH electronica
once again proved to be an important event in the trade fair calendar.
We welcomed a large number of competent trade visitors to our stand.
The inclusion of the topic of electromobility in the trade fair’s
agenda turned out be a correct decision since it aroused attention. It
enabled us to talk to visitors about new technologies with a clear
market orientation.
Chris L. Beeson, Vice President Sales & Volume Business Division, Digi-Key Corporation We
at Digi-Key find electronica to be a fabulous opportunity to engage the
greater European customer base and thank them for all this support they
are providing our organization. We attempt to have a little fun but at
the same time listen very closely to both the customers and suppliers
to ensure our service levels are within their expectations.
Hans-Juergen Bochtler, Sales Director, Agilent Technologies Sales & Services GmbH & Co. KG, Deutschland We
were pleasantly surprised by the course of the trade fair - right from
the very first day. We had not expected such large crowds right at the
beginning. We still do not have any actual figures, but think that more
international visitors were present and that the spectrum of visitors’
industries was very broad. We noticed that more customers are coming
from Eastern Europe, and some even from Russia. However, there were
fewer visitors from traditional European countries such as France. We
clearly noticed that there were far more inquiries about specific
procurement projects in 2010 than at the previous event. Customers were
interested in our new products, and we held a very large number of
meetings. The atmosphere during the trade fair was excellent.
Lucio Bossi, Managing Director, STMicroelectronics GmbH electronica
is the world’s most important trade fair for electronics and the only
event that covers the industry on such a wide scale. The importance of
electronica for us was also demonstrated by the increased presence of
our top managers on our stand. We held countless meetings with
customers, which turned out to be very satisfactory We were also
pleased with the number, expertise and internationality of the
visitors. During our customer evening we met guests from four
continents and 30 countries. The focal point of our stand design this
year was concern for our planet. The company has set great store by
this issue for years. It met with a very positive response from
visitors. However, we do not regard the trade fair as a place to
present new products. Instead, we regard the leading event electronica
as an image trade fair. Generally speaking, electronica was better than
in 2008.
Peter van der Eijnden, Managing Director, JTAG Technologies, Germany We
were very satisfied with the outcome of the trade fair. We had a very
large number of contacts on our two stands and some highly promising
new customers. We easily managed to meet our target group. The visitor
structure was international, many visitors came from European countries
and some even from Russia.
Gustav Erl, General Manager, TDK-Lambda GmbH We
counted between 10 and 15 percent more visitors on our stand than at
electronica 2008. The expertise of visitors was at a constantly high
level. We presented special LED network devices for the area of
lighting. LED power supply is a new market for our company and the
response to our products was extremely positive. We also presented
railway applications for the first time.
Helmut Friedrich, Head of the Equipment Connection Technology Business Unit, Phoenix Contact Deutschland GmbH electronica
was a very good trade fair for our company. We could sense the general
economic recovery. A large number of customers are starting new
projects. The quality of the discussions was very high. In Germany
electronica is the trade fair with the highest proportion of foreign
visitors. We talked to visitors from all regions – America, Europe and
the USA. The most important topic at the trade fair besides traditional
industrial business was green energy. We have developed new activities
in the solar sector, which are going down very well. This is also true
of electromobility.
Klaus Hagenacker, Sales Manager, Data Modul We
were very satisfied with the outcome of the trade fair so far. Customer
relations were intensified although we still have to evaluate the
contacts with potential new customers. The number of visitors on our
stand was very high. A great many customers from European countries
came to our stand. The quality of the meetings was, without exception,
very good. The most important topics were the presentation of new
technologies and embedded solutions, multitouch, displays, automotive
and the current delivery situation.
Gisbert Hauck, Managing Shareholder, Lemo We
were very satisfied with electronica. We spoke to more customers than
we had expected during the run-up to the trade fair, and held important
discussions with worldwide customers. Participation in electronica
saved us a great deal of time since we were able to speak to many
customers here.
Lemo exhibited new plug-in connectors for
medical technology/measuring and control systems, which proved very
popular among customers. There was also great demand for glass-fiber
plug-in connectors.
The cost-cutting measures introduced by our
customers regarding travelling expenses during the recession are still
in force. Some companies used coaches to transport visitors to Munich
for one day.
Klaus Heck, Vertriebsleiter Batterien-Montage-Zentrum GmbH Electromobility
was the most important topic for our company at electronica 2010, and
also for the rapidly expanding market of electric bikes. Around 20% of
visitors to our stand were new contacts. They are normally developers
who are our main target group.
Fritz Herrmann, Head of Marketing, Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. KG We
are very satisfied with the trade fair. We discussed interesting
projects with our customers. In particular, we presented new products
in the measuring technology segment. Automotive was the main topic for
us. Our developers attended some of the forums and conferences. hybridica was also of interest to our company.
Alfons Hiltscher, Head of Sales and Marketing, Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. Kommanditgesellschaft We
exhibited for the first time at electronica. Our objective was to show
the industry that we are also an electronics partner. We fully attained
this objective. Our visitor expectations were exceeded by far. We are
very well-known to OEMs and would like to create a broader basis with
developers and show suppliers what we can do.
Kay Hirmer, Marketing, OKW Odenwälder Kunststoffwerke Gehäusesysteme GmbH The
hall planning and visitor guidance were excellent. We had a good
position and our stand was full. On the whole, the trade fair was very
successful. The expertise of visitors was just right, and many of them
came to our stand with specific ideas. The economic crisis is almost
over and budgets for projects are available again. An increasing number
of designers are also attending the trade fair again. We have
representatives in 45 countries and are enjoying export growth. This
growth was also indicated by the visitor frequency. There were far more
customers here than in 2008. We also met more international visitors.
We have high expectations of business after electronica on account of
the large number of good discussions during the trade fair.
Harry Joch, Regional Channel Manager Central Europe, Honeywell GmbH, Deutschland Our
expectations of electronica 2010 were more than fulfilled. We had not
anticipated such large crowds. We received inquiries regarding specific
projects for all our six market segments. We had numerous visitors on
our stand, the clientele was very international. We exhibited for the
first time at electronica and invested a great deal of time in our
preparations during the run-up to the trade fair. We were very pleased
with the outcome of electronica. Incidentally, we regard the hall
allocation as very clear and the guidance system for visitors is
excellent.
Joachim Kornmayer, Senior Marketing Manager, Bosch GmbH Generally
speaking, electronica turned out to be very satisfactory for our
company. We wanted to be seen, and we attained this objective. Bosch
met numerous visitors and had good contacts. The number of visitors on
our stand was also high and there was great interest in our products.
The industry has visibly recovered and customers are showing interest.
The response was far better than in 2008.
Jörg Murwaski, Managing Director, Würth Elektronik, Germany Compared
with the previous event, electronica 2010 proved to be much better for
our company. We were very satisfied. We now have 50% of our contacts
from outside Germany, predominantly from major European countries. On
the whole, we also had more visitors on our stand. The mood was very
good, particularly after the economic crisis. We acquired some new
customers. Our expectations were fully met.
Konrad Nikisch, Director of Marketing Communications, Tyco Electronics electronica
turned out to be very successful for our company. The most important
topic for us was electromobility – not only for automobile
applications, but also for industrial applications.
Gary O’Donnell, Director of Corporate Marketing, Fairchild Semiconductor We
met all key customers as well as prospecting new customers and are very
pleased with the level of attendees. The mood was upbeat and we have
exciting prospects for next year.
Georg Plasswilm, Sales Manager Germany, National Instruments, Germany We
achieved our trade fair goals. The number of contacts, the quality of
the leads and the visitor frequency were excellent. The partner
companies on our stand also confirmed this. On the whole, the stand was
always very busy. The level of interest from the automotive industry
was very high. We held good discussions. The range of topics was broad,
for example consumer electronics, comfort functions, etc. Generally
speaking, we were satisfied with the internationality of the visitors.
This year there were also some visitors from Eastern Europe.
electronica is a good trade fair for our company and also very helpful,
especially for business at the end of the year.
Rüdiger Prill, Geschäftsführer, Harting Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG electronica
was a great success for our company. After a quick recovery, we
recorded more visitors than ever before. They were highly qualified. We
met a very high proportion of foreign visitors. They came from European
countries, but also from the Far East.
We exhibited new PCB
connectors, which proved to be very successful. They are used in
embedded computing and throughout the industry.
Thomas Salitz, Senior Account Manager, Mentor Graphics GmbH, Deutschland The
trade fair was a success. The inquiries from customers are in a visibly
dynamic future environment. The expertise of customers was so high that
it fully exceeded our expectations. The number of visitors could have
been slightly higher. Visitors came from Central European countries. We
therefore reached precisely our target group. We have already discussed
specific projects and there are no more signs of crisis.
Thomas Staudinger, Senior Vice President, NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH Our
stand was very well-attended on all (three) days and we conducted far
more discussions with customers than we had expected. In particular,
great interest was expressed in the repositioning of our company and
the product announcements. The expertise of visitors was also very
high. As far as NXP is concerned, electronica is especially important
for cultivating relationships with customers. The trade fair attracted
a wide range of all key participants and all our partners were present.
Generally speaking, we exceeded our targets for electronica and were
very satisfied with the results.
Dr. Ernst Strasser, Director Sales & Marketing, AT&S, Österreich The
first three days of electronica fair were fantastic. In particular, the
first day was well above our expectations. Our capacities were utilized
to the full during the trade fair and our stand was permanently
occupied. The discussions turned out to be successful. Half of the
visitors on our stand were regular customers and the other half new
customers. We discussed specific further developments or examined
problems with our regular customers. The new customers frequently asked
about new technologies. Our visitors came primarily from Europe while
customers from the automotive industries originate, above all, from
Germany. On the whole, the number of contacts was very high and we
appeared to achieve a record result. The atmosphere was excellent; it
therefore also reflected the situation on the market.
Falko Thieß, Marketing Specialist, Vector Informatik GmbH Our
expectations of electronica 2010 were fulfilled. We also established
some new contacts with whom we able to initiate highly promising
projects. We met our automobile customers at electronica.
Kerstin Uhl, Communication Manager Europe, Texas Instruments Our
stand was very well-attended and always full. There was a great deal
happening every day with visitors from all over the world. The
expertise of visitors was extremely high and many came specifically to
Texas Instruments with definite projects. The mood among visitors and
within the industry is very positive. The economy in Europe and
throughout the world is in very good health. The trade fair was a great
success for our company and a definite improvement compared with 2008.
Johann Weber, Vorstandsvorsitzender Vorstand Elektronik, Zollner Elektronik AG We
were very satisfied with the number of visitors and the outcome of the
trade fair. We had a full exhibition stand right from the first day and
generally many visitors who wanted answers to very specific questions.
There were far more international visitors than at the last event, a
fact which is very important for our globally operating company. The
cultivation of contacts and the discussions were intensive; starting
with questions concerning current trends and developments through to
promises for new orders, we discussed a great deal in the few days on
which electronica took place. The mood here was very positive. It
appeared as if more business trips are now being approved again and
people came to the trade fair with many good ideas. The automobile,
medical technology and aerospace industries are growing, and the share
of electronics in specific areas is also increasing. Growth was a
positive feature of the discussions on our exhibition stand.
Thomas Wegener, Head of LCD Marketing, Samsung Semiconductor Europe GmbH We
were very satisfied with the complete organization of electronica
itself, from the preparation through to the full service. We were also
very satisfied with the discussions with regular and prospective
customers. The topics during these, in our opinion, numerous
discussions were direct projects and resulting business. We are already
looking forward to the next electronica with probably an even wider
range of products on our stand.
Jürgen Weyer, Geschäftsführer, Freescale Deutschland We
were extremely satisfied both with the number and expertise of
visitors. We held numerous discussions with customers at all levels and
in all segments. electronica turned out be successful for our company
with a great reception among customers and a positive overall picture.
The mood within the industry is very good. There is a spirit of
optimism with a positive outlook. electronica is a good advertisement
for our company and we like coming here.
Michael Wohs, Senior Director Sales Europa/Emerging Markets, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Deutschland As
a long-standing exhibitor at electronica, we were also very satisfied
again this year with the constantly high number of visitors – and right
from the very first day. In addition, there was a marked increase in
the quality and internationality of the contacts this year. electronica
is now one of the world’s most important trade fairs for our company.
It is an attractive meeting-point and information platform for the
intensification of existing contacts, as well as an important source
for new contacts.
Hans-Peter Ziegler, Corporate Executive Vice President, Head of Corporate Center, EPCOS AG We
were very satisfied with electronica 2010. The order situation is very
good and we met far more visitors than in 2008. The first day itself
was excellent. The visitors were international and there was a pleasing
mixture of industries and regions. We focused on electromobility and
green energy, and found that there was a great deal of interest in
these topics. We used electronica this year to present world premieres.
Holger Zielke, General Manager Industrial Business Group, RENESAS electronica
again lived up to its reputation as the world’s leading event for the
electronics industry. We were more than satisfied with the outcome of
the trade fair. It should be emphasized in this respect that the
discussions with our customers were characterized by optimism in
continuing business relations.
Peter Zimmermann, Senior Director Industrial, Mirconas Our
expectations were more than fulfilled. The expertise of visitors was
surprisingly high and there was a balanced ratio between buyers and
developers. The number of visitors was very high, especially on the
Wednesday. We would have liked a better international mixture. We had
relatively large numbers of visitors from Asia, but only a few from the
USA and Europe. One of our objectives in exhibiting at electronica is
to generate new leads. However, we also use the trade fair to establish
contacts, cultivate our image and recruit potential employees.
Generally speaking, it was a good decision to exhibit again at
electronica for the first time since 2006.
