"What do I want to be when I grow up? – Future Professionals Day at
electronica 2010, which is part of the ZVEI "Superstudium.de" initiative,
gave students the answer.
Engineers are urgently needed, especially now in times of economic
upswing. As in the past,
electronica 2010 and the ZVEI were doing their part and were working together to
promote future professionals in the electronics industry.
That is why the World's Leading Trade Fair for Electronics invited everyone
to attend Future Professionals Day at the
electronica Forum on the last day of
the fair. Under the auspices of the
ZVEI "Superstudium.de"
initiative for future professionals, once again some 200 high-school seniors from select schools were be able
to gather information on career prospects and job descriptions in the
electronics industry.
First, students were looking to exciting
presentations from young engineers at the Forum. They gave presentations with interesting facts in a relaxed atmosphere and reported on
their own careers and professional responsibilities to give young people a look
at
educational alternatives and career
opportunities in the electronics industry. They will also be available to answer
questions.

Then hostesses took the students – who were divided up into
small groups and equipped with "snack bags" – to the
exhibition
stands of three companies, where
young
engineers, trainees and apprentices made presentations and were
available to answer questions. They gave the students a first-hand look at
how exciting it can be to work in the electronics industry and that careers in
engineering are fun and leave room for creativity.
The
Knowledge Course was
celebrating its premiere at Future Professionals Day in 2010. At
"Knowledge Stations" next to
the
electronica Forum, students presented their school projects, and
companies conducted interesting experiments that students could try out to learn
more about technology and have fun at the same time.
Future Professionals Day concluded with an additional highlight,
i.e. a sweepstakes: Our partner Digi-Key Corp. was providing two Vespa
scooters for the lucky winners.
