For the first time ever,
ExtraEnergy e.V. will be at electronica
in November 2010. The
association for the promotion of light electric vehicles
(LEV) will bring its many years of expertise for
electric-vehicle test tracks
to Munich.
The
pedelec and e-bike test track will make it
possible for anyone to try out and experience electronics for themselves. ExtraEnergy
is making a modern ramp and support staff available. Visitors can test the
power of the pedelecs and e-bikes along a 20-meter stretch of test track with an
incline of 11%. This mobile test track is part of the GoPedelec project, which
is sponsored by the EU.
Pedelec and e-bike tests Besides its test-drive offers, ExtraEnergy e.V. has
been testing products since 1993. Its objective is to accelerate developments
in the market for light electric vehicles and improve quality. It has been
publishing its test results in its own "ExtraEnergy Magazin" since
2010. ExtraEnergy also awards testing seals for outstanding pedelecs and
e-bikes. The seals are a visible sign of quality, and in many cases they help dealers
and end consumers with purchasing decisions.
EnergyBus The EnergyBus organization has been working on the standardization
of electrical components for LEVs for three years. Large enterprises such as Bosch,
Sanyo and Panasonic belong to the organization, and other key LEV producers are
also expected to join.
The standardization of
LEV components ensures interoperability
and safety. Having a uniform, freely accessible standard gives manufacturers more
choices and frees up resources for the development of new functionalities. Standardization
is also the prerequisite for creating public charging stations and integrating
electric vehicles into local traffic. The concept will only succeed if customers
can charge their batteries safely and at any charging station.
