Expectations more than fulfilled: electronica
automotive conference 2008
Hybrid vehicles, low cost cars or the i-car: The
focal points of the talks during the electronica automotive conference were the
key topics in the automobile electronics sector. 306 delegates from 22
countries attended the conference, which was held in Munich on November 10 and 11, 2008 as part of
electronica 2008. In addition to Germany,
an above-average number of visitors came from the USA, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands
and Sweden. The speakers came from internationally leading
companies – from automobile manufacturers and their component suppliers through
to electronics companies themselves. The conference agenda was put together by
a committee comprising first-class experts. Conference Chair Peter Gresch from
Tyco Electronics AMP was very satisfied with the outcome of the event: “With
over 300 delegates from 22 countries and 32 speakers from the entire value-added
chain of automobile electronics, the second ‘Electronics meets Automotive’
conference also more than fulfilled its expectations.” These are ideal starting
conditions when the conference is next staged. By
combining the electronica automotive conference with electronica, a unique
worldwide event was created for the automobile electronics sector at which the
current challenges facing automobile electronics are presented and discussed
internationally by automobile manufacturers, their component suppliers and
electronics companies. The conference is also unique in the world because it
has an international character and is closely linked to electronica. These
links include the automotive forum, which is strongly geared towards software,
and the comprehensive exhibition by technology leaders in the automobile
electronics sector. Around 1,200 companies presented products and applications
relating to automobile electronics. |
